yes- it looks as if it has been ground down smooth at one time and spot painted green and then yellow over it at some point. Thats the only spot where I can scratch and pick and find green paint. So maybe the canopy is Holt also? Doesnt really matter, just curious. I was told the original owner had ...

Lavoy- Thanks for the reply, I have never heard of Balderson. Any educated guesses as to weight? I was guessing 6-6.5k or so (too much for a 7k trailer anyway). Any thoughts on value for this dozer? My plan is to cut a road and clear about 2 acres, rock and skid some trees. Then I would like to remo...

Hello- I was hoping to get some info about what type/model blade and canopy I have mounted and if original equip. I recently bought this (40c) it's not a 420 but I think the carb tsx641 and governor are 420 (at least according to service manual pics) I was also curious about ballpark value and weigh...

40c carburetor
Just curious if anyone has ever removed the "econimizer jet" from a marvel schebler carb before? Mine is tagged as a TSX-641 on a 40c dozer. I think that some equip. fitted with these carbs has the jet while others do not. I found my rebuild kit through "Roberts carburetor repair" and they have a ve...

Digger- About plugging those vents I was just curious if they may help to prevent condensation from forming inside the finals? This crawler has a canopy and the vents are a check style so I dont think they will let water in. Also with out a legible serial #, and besides the water pump how can you te...

Thanks for the advice, yes I did go over most everything and only found a couple of loose track pads. I think I am ready to go I was just reading through the forums and was questioning how husky things are with the added stress of blade and winch hanging off the back. What a great site and bunch of ...

40c abuse?
Im trying to learn from others mistakes and misfortunes instead of my own for once and wondering how hard can I safely work my new toy? Ive got a 40c with blade and winch, fresh tune and ready to work. While I was servicing and changing all fluids I noticed where both finals had been cracked and wel...

thank you- that was fast. do you think the brake should be left on or off when not winching but still using the blade ? or does it matter. the lever on the winch is bungeed in (disengaged) im guessing because there is no spring or detent to keep from "falling" into gear. the brake looks original and...
