Paul's 1010 Crawler/Loader Sell or Fix?

One of the pins in my left chain has separated. was able to limp back to the barn. I can probably still drive it up onto a trailer but that's about it. My quandary is whether to sell for scrap or fix the undercarriage. Runs like a top. Starts in the cold. But it needs rollers rails and pads. rear sp...

Thought you might say that. :-) How hard is it to put the 350 sprocket "ring" on? What is involved in installing them?

Help finding 1010 rails

Hi all, its been a long time since i've posted. Hope all is well with everybody. Unfortunately, not all is well with my 1010 loader. The rails are starting to come apart. Both sides are really shot, but a pin is starting to come out on the right side, and the ralis themselves are not salvageable - t...

I'm on the west coast in Oregon, and i found that that many of the ordinary auto and tire places have a skinny RV quality battery that fits perfect. I have one in my small motor home that has a Ford E 350 chassis. The regular deep cycle batteries are too fat and rest on top of the steering levers. :(

Fuel Filter Tips Needed

Going to do some fall maintenance on my 1010 diesel crawler/loader. Is there any trick to changing the fuel filters without messing up the prime on the pump?

1010 with an 810 loader

Does anybody know what the clearance is supposed to be for the joints that connect the bucket to the loader. (wrist) The hex bolts are in tight, but it looks like there's 1/8in or more in clearance side to side. Is it supposed to have shims or washers in there?

Well, truth be told, (not to my wife) i DID take a little skid sideways - about 20-30 feet. Right toward a drop of about 100 feet at about a 20 degree grade. But i slid on pavement until i hit some dirt, and then i was back in the saddle. A little scary, but i was ready to jump! :) Is that what the ...

Speaking of Maiden Voyage. You may have been hearing about the snow storms in the Northwest. It is very unusual to have 2-3 ft of snow out here. I was a little worried about sliding sideways, but my wife got some pictures of my 1010 at work. I'm proud of the machine. It seemed to LOVE the cold. Runs...

Track cross reference

Hi all, I've been reading many posts about which undercarriage parts go with which crawler, and a while back, Lavoy did a great summary of it. So being the geek that i am, i tried to make a cross reference that could be used to quickly figure out what parts will work on different rigs. (hopefully) H...
