diesel in oil 440icd

dozer has been sitting for about six months and I pulled the dipstick to check the oil and it is overfilled. Looked watery and smells like diesel (why I am assuming it is diesel) . Didn't have or notice this problem when I parked it. What happened or went wrong?

the two bolts you are talking about should have a metal lock tab to keep them from turning and behind the cover you should have some shims to take up slack.

Keep it all when things break, things get exspensive. Parts availability is lower than the new crawlers. My experience is if you sell any parts machine, the next day something breaks and the part you need was on the parts machine that you just sold. Just my opinion

throw out bearing may be set too far out and disengaging right steering clutches. Maybe oil soaked. clutches maybe too worn and need replaced. All of the mentioned above can be seen in the access holes uner seat on right hand side and one behind right foot. Not that hard of a job, but I would sugges...

got a few suggestions here, i have seen them all with my own eyes. if you have a rubber fuel line, i had the inner layer bubble up. When you start going up hill the fuel heads to the back of the tank and quits pushing fuel through the bubble in the line and actually shuts fuel off. OR there is a sma...

only problem with welding is you will burn seals up in the pump. it is a 1 inch shaft with 6 splines and coupling is about 2 1/2 inches long. got a machine shop friend i think he is going to make me a new one.
