I think I´ve included the picture of the engine id tag found on the left hand side under the intake manifold, under the "sho...

No serial no at all on 450B

Hi I´ve checked tha latest project over today again for a serial no. Didn´t find anything on the front of the battery box, nor anything under the seat base front or to the right above the instruments panel. Therefore, I would like to ask for your advice, are there any other locations on the crawler ...

Okay, good to hear. We´ll see when that will be then.

Is the Green Magazine a JD Corporate produced magazine or something one can subscribe to or purchase at the local grocery store?

The complete JD crawler/dozer guide?

Hi, I checked today on Amazon for something like the header says, some form of "The complete JD crawler/dozer guide" or book? Does this exist in any form for both early/late crawlers/dozers? The suggestion was given to look for The little giants: John Deere Dubuque works tractors 1947 to 1960 (Unkno...

No.2 JD450 in Sweden

Hi Below some pic´s of the new project. Tried to find the serial no all around on the battery box but no luck. Any suggestions how to locate it? Is it underneath the hydraulic pipes and all the dirt maybe? The engine seems to be a different one from the original due to the green paint instead of the...

Loading a dead 450 onto a flat bed

Hi Guys,

If the 450 I´m trying to take home won´t start and run onto the flat bed I´m using it to take it home, what is the correct procedure to get it towed onto the truck? Neutral on G-box and a slow to tow onto the truck or....??
Any info most appreciated.

Snow pic´s

Great pic´s!! Post more.........

Here in Sweden the rule is that all fun things should be taxed heavily.
And looking from the pic´s, you´re enjoying life and having just a little to much..............fun! Someone needs to tax you..............!

Comprehensive JD crawler history book?

Hi

Does anyone know of a comprehensive JD crawler history book?
Some years ago I bought a couple of JD Tractors history book that were great, but with limited crawler info in them.

Any suggestions on this?

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the informative description on how to use the ether. I´ll certainly make sure that I´ve got a well charged battery when doing the start-up operation and keep the ether-puffs to a .5sec short burst.

Hi

About the turbo idea? Wouldn´t it be both easier and maybe cheaper to install a compressor of some sort? That way you don´t have to get the exhaust manifold made up, only the pipes and hoses to do it.

Engine preheater

Well I couldn´t help it but I just stumbled on a piece of old army diesel engine preheater today and bought it. At $14 it was to good to miss. This one uses an old type of ethanol burner that is placed in front of it with quick connectors that attaches to whatever pipe you´ve got hooked up to the en...
