Re: sprocket inserts

I've been looking for an affordable, good used sprocket for quite some time now with no luck. I may just have to resort to some type of custom made insert or the hard surface approach as Jim suggested.

It's been over 6 years now and the only thing I've done other than filters and oil has been an ignition tune up last fall.

Was the distributor removed from the engine for the repair work? If so was it possibly installed 180 degrees off when reinstalled. Also something I did once in a daaa moment was to install plug wires assuming the distributor turned in a different direction than it did.

This may be a dumb question. But did you check and make sure it's oil, and not the remains of a can of "stop leak" some one may have dumped in?

I put the same engine in my 2010. The conversion was not without some issues, but wit a little head scratchin' I was able to pull it off. I'm very happy with the results. :D

300.00 is what I payed for the 165 gas combine engine I put in my 2010. I was able to hear it run before I bought it. Lots and lots of hours on it since the install, great oil pressure and still purrs like a kitten. :D
