As for adjusting the direction reverser: If you have adjusted it to some unknown place, I would go back to square one and adjust the rear clutch ring much less than the 25-35 pounds called for in the manual. Then go to the other side and loosely adjust the front clutch ring to the point where you ha...

I too have a Hudson 10,000 GVW trailer like Stan. I pull it with no difficulty with a 1500 series (1/2 ton) Suburban, basically the same as a Silverado or F150. I have four wheel drive which I highly recommend if either the pickup or drop off location is not a parking lot or driveway. I do not have ...

Robk, Your photos maybe be sized a little too large to display well for all users. You may want to resize them. If pictures in the text of a posted message get too large they push everything over to the right of the screen, and for many people, off of the screen. Then you have to scroll over to read...

The pad width will not affect the position of the sprocket in relation to the roller. The dish in that particular Berco sprocket may not actually fit your JD1010. (Of course there is always the possibility that your axle is loose which is the most common cause of sprocket to roller interaction, but ...

It is ironic that my first weld job with my new welder was welding pallet forks to my JD440-I loader frame. My new welder was a Hobart Handler 190 Mig. I was concerned that the penetration would not be deep enough with a Mig welder, but a year later, not a crack. And I take my 1/3 cord pallet crates...

Rather than using shims, you might consider attaching a large turnbuckle from the top of the fork assembly to a point further back on the frame arm. I get very large turnbuckles from an Army surplus store for a reasonable price. The Army uses them to tie down tanks. The turnbuckles would allow you t...

As Jim Anderson mentioned, I believe the inability to tilt the forks will be your biggest irritation. Even if you get them loaded, going down the slightest hill on the way to the house will cause the pallets to want to slide off. You can compensate some by raising the "blade" but there is not a lot ...
