after market hood latches for JD crawlers
Hey guys,
Anyone know where I can buy some after market hood latches for a JD 450 crawler? John Deere wants almost $24.00 a piece for them! That's crazy! And they don't even match the orignal ones. I suspect they are buying aftermarket ones and calling the John Deere.
Thanks,
Joel

battery cable size JD450C
Another dumb question! Sorry, I just had new cables made up at the parts store in a size 2 gauge so I could hook up two batteries for my JD450C crawler. Is 2 gauge heavy enough battery cables?

clearing with disc harrow
Anyone ever pull a bush and bog harrow with a crawler? The book " Moving the Earth" says it works good for clearing brush as it chops it up and buries it. I'm not sure a JD 450 would pull a big enough disc. What do you think?

I had to give 20,000 for it. I noticed that you have to pull just a little harder on the right steering clutch. It works fine, just not quite as easy as the left side. the manual says that pulling the steering clutch back all the way will adjust it to much causing it to be harder to steer. Is there ...

450C steering clutches. How long do they last?

The engine was rebuilt quit some time ago and it has all an new track system put on less than two yea...

crawlers for hire?
Hey guys,
Anyone here ever hire their crawlers out for money? And if so, I wonder what would be a fair price per hour? I can imagine a great difference in price from one part of the country to the other. I guess the size of the machine would make a big difference too.

Thanks digitup, So what you are saying is that if there is anti freeze on top of the motor oil the next morning, then it does have a cracked block? And I need to start it to get anti freeze through out the engine but, Don't I need to put new oil in it so start it if it has water in the oil? Sorry if...
