1010 diesel w/6 way blade ....needs new home
I have had this dozer for 12 plus years, rebuilt the engine, left steering clutch. hydraulic clyinders... I parked it last fall and now it will not start. no power to the starter... will not turn over. Just like every one on this sight I also have more money in this machine than I want to admit to!!...

Hello, I just rebuilt the generator and then installed a new regulator on my 1010 diesel w/ 6 way blade. It ran well a week ago and yesterday I went to start the old girl and it had absolutely nothing.... no click, no anything. The battery is charged but it is a no go. Have any of you guys any sugge...

I was wondering if anyone knows the possible causes for sparks flying when I reconnected the battery. I just had the generator rebuilt. the voltage regulator looks as it is original to the 1010 diesel I have. If anyone has an idea I would apppricate knowing. Thank you Randy

well let's see what we have now....a battery that when you try to hook it up, positive ground the sparks fly and it starts to melt the post, now if we try and hook it up to negitive ground it does the same thing. ready to go finally!!!!
I ended up welding a thicker nut to it and it gave me the adjustment I needed. All that's left is to insert the battery it's charged and ready. The only problem I've run into is I have missed placed the the drawbar pin on the front end. I'm sure it'll show up later
