I've had great luck with PB Blaster. It's sold most everywhere like
WalMart and auto parts houses. Works great on old exhaust studs
and that's a pretty good test. Like others have said....a few squirts for
a couple days ahead of time.

Great pics! Thanks for posting them.
My dad just turned 90 in Feb., and is the one responsible for my
interest in the early stuff. He and I restored a Model A when I was
12. We have been through several crawlers and tractors since.
We're very lucky to have these great men in our lives!

Thanks Randy-
This machine was stored outside, in the city, and had vandalism
damage. I think that's the reason for the dash, gauge, hourmeter, swap.
Also, could be where the s/n plate went. I'll check the engine s/n and
contact JD directly. Maybe they can ID this unit.

Here's a pic of moving day. I felt sorry for both of these orphans, and
brought 'em home.

Here's a picture of the cockpit, if that's of any help.
Was a tachometer an option, or is this one just missing?

Help with what year 350B?

Still trying to figure out approx. what year this one is. The s/n plate is missing, only rivets are there. Previous owner lives in AZ. I has the early style fuel filter (2 cannister) on it. Does anyone know of another s/n location on these? http://www.jdcrawlers.com/uploads/im002081.jpg Any help app...

Hey Broke and Bob-
My place is in Balsam Twp., just east of Spider Lake. That's just a ways
down 38 from Effie, and west of Hibbing about 20 miles. I get over to
Hibbing Raceway for the Sat. nite fun a few times every summer. Mike

Thanks jdemaris! I'm in the process of obtaining Tech manual 1032, and until then, just don't know enough about this unit. I'm looking forward to learning a whole lot more. Until then, I'm just degreasing and noting the missing bolts on the belly, etc. The rollers, idlers, sprockets and frame all lo...

dale- There is a sight glass on the side of the hydraulic oil tank that has a plexiglass lens that is cracked. There was oil all over the right side track and the ground where the crawler has been sitting for years. I hauled it on a 40ft. 5th wheel flatbed with a deck about three feet off the ground...

Thanks Rocky- I'll look harder when I get home this a.m. When I loaded it on the trailer yesterday, it didn't have enough clutch to climb, so I had tp pull it on with another tractor. The sight glass on the reservoir is cracked and leaking, so I'm hoping it just needs oil. Seemed to drive on level g...

New (to me) crawler today!

Brought the 350b home today.
Can you tell me where to find the serial # on my newly
aquired 350b? I've looked along the sides of the frame and
under the seat, but found nothing. Any help is appreciated!
I'll try to post pics as soon as I figure out the hosting part. Mike
