I got the sand in the box info from an Airborne museum in Texas. They had a display of how they used the Clark dozers in the Pacific to build airstrips. I suppose this is an example of using things differently.

Hi, I guess that explains why Clark dozers came about during WWII. Smaller and lighter, they were dropped whole. They have boxes to fill with sand or dirt to give them more weight after they land. Much easier than dropping crawler kits! ;) This is quite a project! I would disassemble and rebuild one...

Not enough track length for the down pressure of the 3 pt I think. As the implement is shoved into the ground, force is transferred towards the front. I think too much for the front idler on a 3 roller wihout another roller or two to share that load.

When the pistons are truly stuck, bust out their tops and yank them out upwards using a Ford Model A hub puller bolted to the top of the block. It's the cast iron oil rings rust welded to the bores. They come out a lot easier up than down. Been there, done that.
