40C
Hi, Lavoy I finally got around to putting my 40C back together this afternoon. It really wasn't a bad job at all. Everything seems to be working OK. The hardest part was getting the track back together to get the pin in. Just took a come-a-long and a couple pry bars. Ran it around the yard an everyt...

Hi, Lavoy, Just talked to my friend about the pistons. He said he's talked to Steiners, Drapers and several other people about the oversize pistons. They keep promising them in 2-3 weeks, but this is going on for almost a year. He's down to the point of going .120 over size of even resleeving the bl...

40 C Steering clutch, again, yet, still,,
Lavoy....I'm beginning to wonder if I don't have a pressure plate problem.
one set of springs in the plate is broken.
Are they replaceable?
If not, do you have a pressure plate available, and if so, how much.
Thank you

I know this is not crawlers, but a friend of mine needs a set of Deere "B"
pistons. He says he's tried all over the internet, but I thought maybe someone here may have a source or something.

Clutch
Well, when I took the clutch pac apart, all the disc's filled the carrier level full. Before I disassembled the pac, all the fingers on the pressure plate were totally "depressed". There was no room to depress the fingers any more. The throw-out bearing would not get even close to the fingers. As I ...

Clutch
I just measured the disc's in my steering clutch.
They measured .160 up to .165
I assume they are swelled up.
I know your clutch tool is $25. does that include shipping?
Let me know what ever the cost is, so I can get one ordered from you.
Thank you.

Clutch
I actually loosely assembled it with out one set of disc's but then there was not enough pressure on the unit. I'm sure it would slip.
How do you tell the old pac from the new pac?
By the number of disc's?

40 C clutch
Well, I got my clutch all apart. VERY rusty, but is cleaning up pretty easy.
However, it has 7 fiber disc's. I thought it was supposed to have only 6.
Did I miss something?

Thanks to all who replied. I bit the bullet and removed the final drive so I could get to the left clutch pac this afternoon. Not a bad job at all. After Studying several posts on this site, it made the job fairly easy. Thanks, again to all who posted!! Also getting the parts ordered from Lavoy Jon
