The boom was used for skidding trees from the woods, you can adjust the height and angle by moving the chain links. My grandfather used it for many years peeling popple trees in Wisconsin. The winch attached to the PTO and it works great!

Here is a picture of my Yellow MC crawler serial# 12800. My grandfather purchased it 50+ years ago. He used it in the woods in Tomahawk Wisconsin for many years.
