Electrical woes

Hi guys, I recently replaced the starter in my 350 with a new starter purchased from a place that deals in used and new JD parts, located here in southern NH. The new starter went in fine, and I made sure I checked the starter lead wire placement, as they have changed them. (Thanks Ken P) I turned t...

Hey Ken,
That fuel pump looks suspiciously like that same one I made an emergency trip to PB&H on Saturday afternoon. (last minute of course)

Steering Clutches

Not sure on the time frame for adjusting these, but according to the manual it doesn't look to bad. I need to do the ones on my 350 soon. As far as the bottom rollers go, my thought is they were replaced or it came stock with depending on the year, sealed rollers which require no grease.

Paint colors

Hi guys,
Was wondering if anyone knows (Im sure Lavoy or Jdemaris do) what color black the ROPS, limbrisers, front grille and dash are on a JD350. I think I saw a post not long ago about 440IC's and this topic. Are they flat, semi-gloss, ?? Aso, what do you recommend for a good primer?

Thanks,
Matt

jdemaris, I'm assuming by early 350, you mean before they were equipped with reversers? There is some question as to the year of mine. According to the serial # tag near the seat, Nortrax says it is a '68, but some of the posts I have seen here put it as a '70. I hate to even ask this question, but ...

New noise

Hi guys, Yesterday I changed the engine oil in my 350, along with the reverser fluid. Once I completed this, I started the dozer, and noticed a loud knocking noise while the enging was rolling over. The noise stops when the engine catches and it seems to run fine and push with no problem. There is a...

Nice looking winch and arch! They seem prety hard to come by. Wonder if that arch would bolt up on my 350? I live just a bit north of you and Ken, in Canaan. Ditto on the mud season! This is probably the worst I've seen in many years!

Lavoy,

I would definitely be interested in these. Are you or can you change these to the bolt on style?

Nice one Lavoy! I can't wait to see the photos of you re-skinning the blade. Andrew and I spoke on the phone a while ago about this exact process, as mine needs it as well. If you could, could you please post photos when you do this, along with however you fabricate the new tilt parts? Mine is missi...

Stan, Just read your post about being a dozer operator on fires. I spent a few years working for our state forest fire service on western project fires. We took an engine strike team to Tx one year, and I ended up working a a dozer boss trainee for a week. What a blast! I worked with a guy from the ...

Hi Ken, I live in Canaan, but the dozer is in Hartland Vt, at my in-laws house. I am probably about an hour away from where you live. I started it up today and pushed back a bunch of snowbanks in preparation for what we might get in the next few days! It started right up, I've never had a problem wi...

Thanks Paul. I looked at the photos I believe you posted about dismantling a 350. Very interesting. Someday I would like to tear mine down completely and restore it. You're about an hour away from me, maybe sometime I could stop by and pick your brain a little more.

Thanks,
Matt

limb risers

Hi everybody, I just stumbled onto this website....the best source of information I have ever seen! I have a 1968 JD 350, and have recently located a used factory ROPS for it. I am in the hopes of finding a set of limb risers for it, along with the mount brackets for the nose. Any suggestions? I hav...
