JD 2010C-----Does the steering clutch drive shaft (from the ring and pinion) pull out thru the center of the clutch from the outside of the tractor?

I am repairing a 2010C(S#48100) that has set idle since 1994, i had to rebuild the right final drive. After getting the engine running i was running the crawer back and forth to get things loosened up. Every thing was working fine.
