Howard - mine is almost exactly like the picture. The 3 point is hitch is as Lavoy says - to raise and lower the cutting edge - the pulley and cable connected to the top link is for adjusting apron opening for filling scraper bowl.

I'm looking for John Deere part number U12592U. This is the cap that the hydraulic filters attach to. It bolts to the top of the hydraulic reservoir. I've tried the local John Deere dealer for new and a salvage yard for used. No luck either place.
