You can center punch a mark on the pump, and a mark on the block, or use a scribe and make a line. There is already a line in the block, and should be timing marks on the pump body as well, if you can see them, you can use them as a reference as well. Tie the throttle lever to idle on the pump befo...

Injec. pump timing and return line prob
I kind of have a little problem with the return line on the injection pump on my diesel 1010. I seem to have aquired a leak coming from the fitting on the back of the injection pump and cant quite see where its coming from. It appears to be a brass fitting with a rubber line going back to the fuel t...

Thank you. Yep, its been handy. Ive found that I really have to pick and choose where I need to go when moving through the bigger trees. I have spruce, birch and cottonwood. The birch are the biggest pain since the roots are really tough and can travel out 20 feet right under the surface. Small spru...

Thanks guys, it has been one of those projects that Ive just been picking away at for way too long. Its a relief to get it back where I need it. Ive finished putting in a road to our cabin but still need to do a bunch of clearing around it to keep the fire danger down. It also came in pretty handy f...

Love the site Lavoy, thanks for answering some of my questions in the past. I finally got the old girl put back together and going. Ive been pretty happy and havent had any major problems since I went through it. Most all the issues were broken bolts, loose finals, cracked final housings, bad roller...

Injector leak
Im finally getting my 1010 back up and running after 2 years apart (dont ask  ) and got it started tonight. The injector nuts were really tough to loosen but I eventually got it bled and running. Problem now is that 3 of them are leaking a little right at the nut. Is there anyway to get this t...

Our 450 at work had the same hydro symptoms a few months ago with the slow blade and whatnot. Turned out to be the splined coupler from the engine to the hydro pump. most of the teeth were shot. Im not sure what a 440 shaft looks like but I know my 1010 is diferent than the 450. My guess would be to...
