starter broken

Have 450B and the starter is broken where the solenoid attaches. Also every now and then oil filter gets smashed. Any clues as to what to look at for cause?

engine

Hello All, One quick question. I have a 450B and the engine tag is gone. Casting number is T32342. Can anyone tell by this what size this engine is. I know in this machine should be 4-219. Have issues with engine and maybe changing it out soon but another option would be short block so need to know ...

Did mine awhile back and two things that might help. Moving pin to front is where I positioned mine. Mine didn't have same type pin as yours but with at front and long bar, it can be reached across c-frame. You said inside was loose but outside was tight. This is what I did. Took three track pads of...

oil pressure

Have 450B machine. Have two issues that may not be related. Checked all fluid levels in machine the other day and then used for one hour before shutting down. In that time period oil pressure gradually went from 50 psi (which is low but normal) to almost nothing by the time got it parked. No knockin...

steering line

On my 450B, the steel line feeding the power steering pump started leaking. Took it off to find that it had been brazed to fix previous leak and has split in bend. From looks of this one, patching would be fruitless. Deere no longer makes this part. Can one be made from copper line and be strong eno...

Dozer has hydraulic disconnect and yoke slides easily but cannot figure how or where to separate to get belt out. Worked at it for couple hours this evening. Can someone e-mail step by step. Definitely tying extra one in there. Thanks all

Haven't been on here in a while. Have 450B and needing to replace fanbelt. Have had machine a couple of years now and have done alot to it. As some may recall front got little bit hot so rebuilt everything from front cover forward. Easy to put belt on then. What is easiest way now without taking hal...

oil line

Got a quick question. On a 450B there are steel lines to and from transmission through cooler. Connecting these are pieces of rubber hose, R3. Toughest stuff  ever messed with. What is trick if any to get on line. Never enough room but back at transmission looks to be near impossible. Any i...

Old head was clean and had pan off three weeks ago to change leaky gasket and it was clean also. Didn't word quite right. Engine not gunked up, just oil. Just wondered about best and easiest way to clean milky oil out of engine. Sounds like oil and filter time. Thanks

Water in oil

Hello everyone. Hope new year is being nice to all. Had head crack on my 450b, so got water in crankcase. Changed head, new gaskets and all that stuff. Ran diesel through pan to rinse out gunk. Then new filter and oil. Ran for about five minutes and oil is milky again. Didn't put water in radiator y...
