Re: Putting a 3325 winch on a 550g

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do realize it’s a bit underpowered for a 550, however it’s what I have so I’m going to try to make it work. I really just want it mounted to drag some firewood and maybe a little tug if I go somewhere stupid! A winch/pro adapter plate is what I’m looking for. I’ve looked ...

Putting a 3325 winch on a 550g

I know it will be a job but I’m trying to put a winch from a 450c onto a 550g. My question is how do I seal the pto shaft from the dozer? When I take the cover off, it seems like I would want to keep it clean at the bearing. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Stripped out winch coupling

I was doing a little logging today with a 450c when the winch stopped working. After a few minutes of investigation I found the coupling from the pto the winch was stripped out. Does anyone know how many splines are on the shaft. I was hoping to get a new one before I pull it apart is it the same sp...

450c track pads ????

Hi Guys: I am planning on doing some logging this winter and I want to add some spikes to my tracks. The problem is I don't want to leave the studs on in the summer so I was thinking of finding some old worn out pads to weld the studs to and switch them out in the fall and spring. I figured 2 studs ...

Selling of my 1010

Hey guys, I hate to say it but it is time for my 1010 and I to part ways. If anyone is interested in a great little machine, I have it posted on the La Crosse Wisconsin craigslist. I hope it goes to someone who will enjoy it as much as I did. I just can't have two dozers and a wife, one has to go :c...

Is your back roller wore out or maybe the undercarriage is out of adjustment. I would check with those two things first.

The guys are right in saying a rebuild is your best bet.but if you are interested in a good used engine to swap quick I have one with low hours on a rebuild. The tracks went bad and just needed too much undercarraige attention to repair. I would give a guarantee on the engine. I just hate to see it ...

I would be looking in the head for your problem. If it ran OK before with the cracked head the problem is likely something that has been changed. I would check valve clearance and proper seal of the valves. Did you replace the valve springs? are they strong? head gasket sealed well? Does it spit fue...

If the steering clutches are NOT frozen, you could pull the steering levers back just enough to disengage the cluth but not enough to apply the brakes and It should roll on its tracks then if you have something big enough to pull it.

anyone looking for a good 1010 gas engine?

Hi all:

My dad has a 1010 that has been striped down for parts (ok, I stole them all for my 1010) The engine was rebuilt a while back and has fairly low hours. If anyone is interested let me know.

After a few hours of work, I kind of figured out the problem but not really sure of the cause. The p.t.o. shift fork went way over center and pushed the engagement coupling over and was hitting the 3rd gear. I took a small prybar and flipped it back to where it belongs and everything works again. I ...
