If you get enough dirt and crud, or a rock down in the area surrounding the tilt cylinder, it can crush the barrel when the dozer tilts. If you look at the 6 way on a 1010 or 2010, they have a large sheet of steel that is above the cylinder to keep crud that rolls over the top of the moldboard from ...

If you have the track over the front idler, and the split is between there and the sprocket there is another trick. Put a block between the loader bucket and the front idler, and then curl the bucket down and use it to compress the track spring. This should give you enough room to put the pin in. La...

The yellow on that one looks to me like "paint code 99 on sale at the local hardware store yellow."
I believe you are correct on the changeover date for the new yellow.

There are a few anomilies with the 2010. If you look at the finals, they are rotated to the rear slightly, Deere never did that on any other crawler before or after. The larger diameter inward dished sprocket was another. Could just be growing pains associated with making a larger crawler than they ...

I think 20 PSI is about the high end for a 420, so no big deal there. The oil line to the head is a VERY low flow line, as long as it spurts a little oil, it is fine.

The thing I question is it appears to me that the track adjusters are at about the end of the track frame, so I would assume the pins and bushings are shot.

They are sold, sorry. I have been searching to try and find more, but all roads have been dead ends. All the info I get from multiple sources is that they are obsolete.

Even with a blade on, you will need to hang counterweight on the front of the tractor to keep the front end on the ground. A local guy had one, and he had hug a couple hundred pounds under the front axle to try and hold it down, and this tractor had a loader on it. The main reason though is the hoe ...

Until proven wrong, I will say there are not weld on rims for 2010 sprockets. What guys are thinking of are the weld on 350 rims and they fail to understand that the 2010 uses a substantially larger diameter sprocket. That being said, if they will return your money if they don't fit, try it just for...

I would have to find my book to be sure, but about 9,250lbs pull, first wrap, full throttle. That is about what the book says, in my experience, it will drag a 5 roller 420 with a 62 blade across the yard with the engine idling and about 6 wraps of cable on it with the blade down, and the tracks loc...

How come on those type of shows we never see them trying to take out all of the rusted bolts that broke off? I don't think those guys would ever make it working on crawlers.
