The crawler has a winch on it, and there is a pulley block on the end of the pole. My guess is that it is for uplift when skidding logs, but I question whether the canopy is strong enough for that.

I would gladly trade some of the cold for some snow, really a thin Winter here.

Normally we try and keep it all here, but when it starts bumping the 30 below mark it spills out. Supposed to be up to zero for the highs here by the weekend, thank God there has been little or no wind so far.

The first 440's were 30HP, when the diesels came out, the gassers got bumped up to 33HP, this is the flywheel HP, not PTO.

That is the engine clutch disengagement rod for cold weather starting. You pull the rod up, and hook it on the footrest while you start the engine. When it is running, you release it to engage the main clutch. Neither lever should move when you step on the brake pedal, the linkage is rusty inside th...

We have not hardly had Winter, finally got cold, but still little snow. They just dropped the temp forecast again, now talking 25-30 below tonight, but no snow in the forecast at all. If this nonsense keeps up, I am going to have to move farther North.

There is another possibility. I have had the studs that hold the clutch housing to the trans case break or come loose, and they will leak gear lube into the clutch housing. Either way, you will need to pull the final to find out what is up.

The other option, but more expensive is to put a comfort cover and a heat tube on it, then you will be toast warm in the winter, and won't have hot air blowing on you in the summer. There is a place in Iowa that makes them, I think if Ft Dodge, but I can't remember their name right now. My brother g...

Man, if you are going to post all of the pics with snow in them, least you could do is send me some. 19 below here this morning, and we barely have 3 inches of snow on the ground.

Did you have to remove any vinyl from places it wasn't meant to be after that ride?

That could have been the pressure relief. Sounds to me like you should probably go through the valve and check it out, then set the pressure.

I assume you are talking about a gas crawler with dozer and cam driven pump? If so, right around 1000PSI. Look on the valve itself, there will be a pressure relief screw under a cap on the valve. Be careful that the valve is not bypassing internally and causing your pressure loss. Also, run a straig...

TRouble with a plasma cutter is if the arc deflects, it will cut into the housing or whatever surrounds the offending bolt that you really do not want to cut. Of course, that is no suprise either is it?

Sounds kind of odd, belt pulley on a Lindeman is on the RH side, not the left. None of the crawlers had a front PTO unless you mean it was driven off of the crankshaft, but that would be kind of fast to drive a winch. Get a pic of it if you can, then we might be able to get a better idea.
