TRouble with a plasma cutter is if the arc deflects, it will cut into the housing or whatever surrounds the offending bolt that you really do not want to cut. Of course, that is no suprise either is it?

Sounds kind of odd, belt pulley on a Lindeman is on the RH side, not the left. None of the crawlers had a front PTO unless you mean it was driven off of the crankshaft, but that would be kind of fast to drive a winch. Get a pic of it if you can, then we might be able to get a better idea.

New footrests now available

Just in, new reproduction footrests for 420 & 430. These are the later style with the access hole for the mounting bolt. They will fit 40 as well, just will be the 420 style. On the RH side, you will need to re-use your old brake lock tab. I am working on a replacement for it, but do not have it don...

Don,
If you have the cam pump, stay with it. The crank driven pumps were high volume for running loaders and/or hoes, and would be too fast for a dozer.
I may have a pump left, shoot me an e-mail if you want me to check.

I would have to go with Jimmy too. This is a one shot deal, this rebuild should last you for as long as you own the crawler. Plus, I can think of a lot dumber ways I have shot a hundred dollar bill.

That is actually a measure of how many times you have posted. The more you post, the larger/newer the crawler gets.
If you want an avatar, go to your profile and you can add an avator of a 440.

Sounds like a pretty substantial load of BS. Bearings are bearings, so I highly doubt that they are obsolete. I can belive that some gears are obsolete from Deere, but I have quite a few gears, shafts, and reverser parts available new for the 350.

Don,
I think I forgot that as well, for some reason I thought 420 when I answered you. Not sure what the best way is on a 440 other than what you did. I suppose if you put it together with a new bolt, you could use a longer bolt, and then cut it off.

The auction you are looking at with that link is an archived auction, the crawler sold several months ago.

No, I deleted them quite a while ago. I actually was in Kansas City this summer, and drove over and looked at the crawler.

You are in definite need of pins and bushings alright. The trackframe can be welded up and ground down, or you can cut the piece out and replace it, that is not that big of a deal.
Used idlers can be had, as well as used rollers, it may not be as bad as you think.

One thing to be aware of when buying log chains is the grade of chain you are buying. Unless it something very non-critical with zero chance of someone getting hurt, don't bother with "proof coil" chain. At the very least, buy "high test". We quite buying anything but high test or Peer 7 (grade 70) ...
