I don't think it is hardened, but it will be good quality, probably much better than hot or cold rolled.

It was an option, although at that time I believe not a very popular one. Might have been more prevalent on the Ag crawlers, but not many of them built either.
The 4 bolt rails also became the replacement part for 420 and 430, so there was another possible source there.

When I rebush rails, I can tighten them up some. I shim the bushing end wide, and the pin end narrow, and that will make quite a difference. Not usually worth getting different rails, and only new is 350 rails which are 4 bolt.

There will be side to side play even on new pins and bushings, it just depends on link wear. The critical measurement as far as slop is the center to center measuerment across 4 links (5 pins). 23" is new, 23.5 is 100% worn.

If you have a power 6 way, you won't have the clearance for 14" pads. If you find yourself in a situation where you are actually sinking just driving and not under load, the larger pad will help. If not, then may or may not do any good. It will increase the turning load due to more grouser in the gr...

Harlo made a forklift attachment for 420-440. Keep clicking on the pic on the upper LH side of this page, and you will see what it looks like. They were rated at 4000lbs at 24" to 14', 2000lbs to 21' if you had the 3 stage mast. Main thing to overcome will be the mounting system. The Harlo setup is ...

I think 3000PSI is still too much pressure. I have one of the old high volume guns, and the piston is like 1/2" or more in diameter. I doubt it will do anything close to the 3000PSI, the lever is hard to push when it isn't on a zerk, let alone when it is. That being said, the lower the pressure gun ...

Early 2010 is the same as 1010 just longer, late 2010 is the same as 350, just longer. Measure the diameter of one of your bushings, 1 9/16 is small bushings, 1 3/4 is large.

Jimmy, I have had no problems, but I jump straight to the message board, I never go in through the main page. I know when they were down and I tried to get in, there was nothing, but if I entered through the main site, then I would get the notification message about being hacked. I think Byron is st...

If the bellows is soft and not cracked, and the face is still good, it can be reused. Originally the rollers were supposed to be filled with gear lube, in later years they developed the Track and Roller grease and that became the desired lube. It is obsolete from Deere now, but Corn Head grease is t...

If you don't mind the work, and want to do one, that sounds like a good candidate. If nothing else, it would be a good donor of you found another one needing some parts.
