Re: 440 "power plant"

Odd that it would quit to that degree, I would double check that there is no restriction in the tank or something floating in the tank that is covering the opening when running.

Re: I like to weld it,weld it...

Wife is in Texas this week for work, had a hell of a time getting flights due to cancellations from the weather. Ended up stuck in Minneapolis because all the connecting flight into Texas were cancelled. Had to fly through Atlanta the next day to get to Texas, what a mess.

No, 450 is larger tracks, won't fit 350.

Re: 1010 steering clutches

Yeah, I think the dealer is fibbing, if you look it up on JDPartsonline, it shows as an individual part. Parts book will show 8, but that is only because 8 are required. If you look up the exact same disc in the 420 book it will say 7, that means quantity required, not package quantity. When they en...

Re: 1010 steering clutches

Deere has always had package quantities so to speak, but the part is still per piece. The price I quoted is for one disc, if you got 8 OEM Deere for that, they screwed up at the dealer, but good for you. Current A & I price for the fiber disc is a little less than $36/each, I can't check stock in Ca...

Re: 1010 steering clutches

Unless you paid $300/each (per fiber disc) you did not get "Deere" discs. They may have come from a Deere dealer, but definitely not OEM Deere, current price is $300.55 each, sub number AT314772. There are some garbage discs out there, a big seller on Ebay is putting lots of them out there because h...

Re: thinking newer truck

Unfortunately nowadays there are very limited axle choices on the new pickups, and few if any are very low (high numerically). That being said, with new 6 or more speed transmissions and the low first gears they have, I don't think it is much of an issue any more. I have a customer that runs several...

Yeah, as soon as we got to the edge of town, my blood pressure goes up about 40 points. I have no real use for any big city, but can spend a lot of time in the country pretty much anywhere.

Re: 440 "power plant"

Mine would flow like it was supposed to every time I tested it, only failed under load after working for a while. Line looked good externally, but the inside was deteriorating and collapsing.

Re: 2018 Is Off to a Good Start (Sarcasm)

We just got back from Texas last night. Was in Frisco for national FCS football championship game. Whirlwind tour, no time to do any sightseeing, kids had to get back to school. Wife goes down frequently for work, might tag along some time.
29 above when we got back home, heat wave!

My son and I went to look at a 69 chevy 3/4 ton pickup a couple hours away a week ago. 18 below and we're going to look at pickups, yeah, I know. :) Anyway, asked the guy several times if it had any rust. Got there and the cross stringers in the box are rusted through, both door seal channels you ca...

Re: 20 Below and Blowing 20

I'll take the snow, already have the cold. West of me a ways was the coldest in the nation a couple week ago, -44F. We only got to -29 or so. There are heat tubes that you can get for the crawlers. You put on a pusher fan, and a canvas tube goes from the radiator back towards the dash and blows warm...

Re: Body more worn out than my equipment

Many years ago, I bought a little Transitier 3 wheel forklift with a Crosley engine in it for little or nothing. I commented one day to a friend of mine that stopped over that it was only the same cost as a few chiropractor visits. He looked at me and said, "No dumbass, what happens when you do some...
