Re: Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine

350C got the rubber isolator at 706659, so that is kind of confusing. According to that, early 350C would have had the spring isolator.

Re: water in hydraulic oil

I drained and filled with new oil, new filter, 5 qts of oil, and one can of Seafoam, pretty sure they are 16 oz. I let the crawler idle for 45 minutes, and it cleaned it up so there was no moisture residue or discoloration to the oil whatsoever.

Re: jd440ic charging issues & hyd cyl issues

Already checked into it, no one would pay that much money for what it would cost. Deere made 30-50,000 machines with that pump, finding a rebuildable used one will never be a problem, and I have pretty good luck with them being good to start with.

Re: Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine

Then definitely not a C model. If it looks like a glorified clutch disc, it is a straight 350. If 5 big springs and a goofy plate deal with splines and a fiber backing, then it is a B model. Not a hard and fast rule, because who knows what people have changed over the years, but doubt someone bought...

Re: water in hydraulic oil

I have read that Seafoam is good for removing moisture in hyd oil. I just used it on a customers engine that was badly water contaminated, and it worked better than I could have ever hoped, it is my new go to. Otherwise, the rule of thumb is 140 degrees operating temp of the fluid for at least half ...

Re: jd440ic charging issues & hyd cyl issues

I do not sell pumps that have not been taken apart by me. I probably have one I can check, or enough parts to build one with new bearings, seals, O-rings, shaft seals, polished housings and good gears runs $350.

40C in for parts

Fresh in for parts, 4 roller 40, jobber angle dozer, rails show pin boss wear, but pins and bushings are very good. Grille is bad, hood is fair, fenders would clean up. Original seat, grille guard and hyd system, 7 very low hour bottom rollers, PTO. Call or e-mail for more info.

Re: Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine

No flex plate in a C model, it is a rubber torsional isolator, but should have a small amount of give.

Re: Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine

I doubt that is it. No way for fuel to get from the tank through the pump and fill the cylinder up. I doubt it can happen regardless, but even less likely when the fuel tank is not above the injector level to start with.

Re: I got the power...

I haven't worn a ring for any length of time in 29 years shortly. What I did get though is a few of the new silicone rings (I lose them quickly). Still can wear a ring, zero chance of conductivity, they break if you hook them on something.

Re: Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine

Soak them in penetrant overnight just in case that will help some. Install new ones with anti-seize.

Re: rebuilding 350B final and reusing pressure plate

So the question/s are: What do you mean it looks OK? Visual test tells nothing about spring pressure, which is the critical factor assuming nothing is damaged or broken. Is it really worth saving $140 and running the risk of not having to pull the final again. What is your time worth if you have to ...
