Brokentractor link contains a virus threat. Wenger.com has nothing to do with tractors.

Just received an estimate of over $1,700 for the pto shaft assembly. Looks like I'll be generating my power a different way!

Thanks Lavoy.
From what I've learned so far, the rpm would need to be ratio'd up to 1800 for this head to output properly. No problem for the 350 with its base horsepower, torque and governing. Doesn't look like I'll be generating anything but talk unless I find a shaft.

Exactly. KenP. My dozer will come in real handy as a power source for a nice generator head I spotted. y machine just has the flat cover on the rear of the trans. Thanks for the suggestion.

Need a PTO Drive Shaft for JD 350

Just wondering if I can buy a PTO "powershaft" attachment for my JD 350. If anyone knows of where this assembly can be purchased either new or used, please let me know.
Thanks,

Any used pre-cleaners out there?

Never had one on my 350, but fashioned a good makeshift filter from this 'n that. Sure would like to fit her with a stock pre-cleaner. If you have one you'd part with, let me know.
Thanks,
Nick

Why is there such a tiny little drain plug in that case? There's 3 gallons of oil in there! The trans has a 1/2" plug with a 9 quart capacity. Strange.

Excellent suggestion. Not being a welder, it didn't occur to me. I'll ask my buddy to try that tomorrow. Thanks.

Reverser Drain Plug Stripped

All, You guys have been great, helping me get my 350 back in good condition. In changing fluid in the reverser, I found the drain plug, a surprisingly small (3/8") allen plug, frozen in place and irremovable because it had been previously rounded out. It looks like my only option now is to drill it ...

I've read that AW32 is a 10w oil, but I'm the student here. Do you put it in the trans also?

Substitute for 303 fluid?

Time to change fluids in the 350. Can I substitute the 303 (now Hy-Gard) fluid for some other 20w trans/hydraulic oil? Also, any thoughts on using 15w40 multi-vis engine oil in place of the manual's recommended straight-weight 30?
As always,
Nick

I also have a '67 350, and found that my reverser cable had rusted and broken at the lever. This is a wire sheath that snakes through the engine, by the exhaust manifold. Possible that it has dried out and needs to be lubed or replaced. When I took mine out, I hand-shifted the reverser valve and she...

Reverser Cable

Thanks, Lavoy. I did find one for a lot less than the dealer!
