MC pads
I've got a half set (28 pads) that I'd sell. They are the 14" heavy duty (5/16") type. I think 18 of them are NOS and the rest are nearly new. PM me if you're interested. I'll buy that die from you Lavoy if you're intereted in selling it :) . I've got everything else to make this happen; just don't ...

choke plate part
Missing this plate doesn't require you to run partial choke when the engine is cold, it actually makes it so that when you start it with full choke on, the engine can draw some air as it comes up to speed. That's what the quote from the carb company is saying, only in more words. It acts like a chok...

602 Blade info
I can't remember who all needed the pdf of the parts breakdown for the 602 bulldozer blade unit. I have a more complete "version" of it that I'll share if anyone needs it. I also have one of the 620, and the 648. If you sent me an email address through "private message", I'll send them to you. Mark V

Good. That makes me more comfortable. Just don't want to see anybody hurt. Thanks Ralph.

Loader bucket
With all due respect to all the good sugestions, I'm with Lavoy. Although there's a jillion ways to get it down, if you don't have the right equipment that can handle it, someone could get hurt really bad. You'll be amazed at how much that bucket weighs, and how unstable it is that high in the air o...

MC starter button
Preppypyro, You can wire this button whichever way you want to. If you want to be able to crank the engine without starting it (handy at times) then take the wire to the positive battery cable (either at the battery or at the starter). If you want it to only crank when you have the key on, then take...

440ICD Link Height
The 440 crawlers had both 2 bolt and 4 bolt pads. Your links are John Deere part #'s T14268 (left) and T14269 (right), and the original height on them was 3.19". If they are 3.00" or less, they are considered 100% worn per John Deere's track appraisal.

1010C Crossbar
Andrew, In theory, what you have suggested should work. In practicality, it probably won't. (On a 440, you can't slide the crossbar that far side to side. It has a shoulder on it just inside of the inner clamp.) The 1010C shouldn't have that shoulder, so it should be able to move side to side. You w...

1010C Bull Gear
Lavoy,
What do you need for a new one, and do you sell it with the center hub or without?
Thanks again,
Mark V

440 sprockets
Yellow Machine,
If Lavoy can't help, I've got a pair of brand new sprockets (NOS) that I'll sell. I've got a friend whose parents live near you, and I'm sure I could get them hauled from here to there reasonably if you could wait a while.

fuel tank repair
We clean and repair tanks like this regularly in our radiator shop. Rinse it with MEK (readily available at a hardware store). That will cut and remove all the fuel residue. Then rinse it with water and Simple Green. Run an inert gas in it if you have it, or the exhaust from any late model vehicle (...

420C charging
Sorry for the back-to-back post, but after reading your question again, I still don't think I answered what you where asking. The ignition system (points, condenser, coil, etc.) on these tractors will NOT run without voltage from the battery/generator (charging) system. It is not like some older tra...

420C charging
You're right, Stan. And actually all of the alternators generate AC voltage. The internal bridge rectifier converts it to DC voltage before it gets shipped to the battery. Hopefully, we're not totally confusing you in regards to your 420C problem. The bottom line is, whether a system is nominally 6 ...
