Tech tip: how to lift, get under crawler
Have not had to do this...yet. But am thinking about what I might do to get my JD40C off the ground a bit to facilitate access underneath, as well as make it easier to work on roller grease fitting, etc. How have you raised your tractor? considering rolling up onto wide square beams.. or if jacking,...

reply from Paccar

reply from Paccar
I inquired to Paccar's winch division about the absence of Model 8 information on their site and was delighted to receive a swift reply, with a helpful attachment of the Model 8A/8G manual in pdf form (same as Paul has shared here). No explanation why they do not post the information on their site (...

Gearmatic Model 8 - disowned?
Paul, Thank you for sharing the 8A/8G manual. Using it, I was able to identify I have a Model 8A. Now, does anyone know why the Paccar Gearmatic website, which lists all manner of Gearmatic Models, specifically excludes the Series 8 Winchdrums? Even their Gearmatic Performance Info for Older Style W...

Flipping through the service manual pages a little more last night, came across this description of the wire harness. Found my answer (more or less)!
