The disc were from A&I. No oil. Bearings look good. The out side on was new. What do you think about metallic disc. And what having fiber on one side and metallic on the other side?

steering clutch striped the fiber clutches after 21 hours

Installed new steel and fiber disc and new pressure plates. After 21 hour of work the left side quit pulling. Took it apart and the teeth on all the fiber disc are striped. Any idea why?? 450 john deere. crawler

how hard was it to pull the pump off?

I need to do the something. How hard was it to get the pump off? Was u able to get it off with out remove the radiator?

Which clutch disc are better? Fiber or metallic? Are the metallic worth the exta money????

450 steering clutchs

i bought a 450 john deere has dry clutchs. i am getting them out to replace or repair, someone has told me that after i get them replaced to put ATF in the secton where they go and make wet clutchs out of them. Any one done this or heard of this being done??? thanks.
