Project 2010 Diesel to Gas.... part 2
Moving ahead with the change from diesel to gas on a 2010. So far everything seems straight forward with nothing more involved than moving parts from the diesel motor to the gas motor. Some notables are; Diesel water pump and bracket are different than gas. Diesel fan is a large pusher and gas is sm...

Project 2010 Diesel to Gas
A quick little history of my new to me 2010 diesel dozer. Through craigslist I traded a decent Ford 8N for the 2010 that didn't run "quite right". Drained five gallons of sludge oil and another gallon or so of water from the engine. Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to add new oil and try t...

New 2010 Project Goes Bad in a Hurry
Got started evaluating my new to me 2010 diesel dozer project that I recently acquired. I knew it had some water in the oil issues but it would start. Drained oil and added fresh. I would not let it run for no longer than two minutes as I knew something wasn't quite right. Well that something turne...

Got the dozer here and it appears to be a solid unit. I did get it started and it ran rough. Noticed there was no water in the radiator so while it was running I slowly added some . Next thing I knew it blew the oil dip stick off of the motor along with the creamy stuff that says "water in the oil"....

Trade for Ford 8N almost complete
Dozer should get delivered this saturday. Tractor will leave here on its way to San Diego. Rebuilt the motor and the other misc components. A few lose ends to square away (still using temp fuel tank) and it is good to go. Excited to get started on the crawler. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q149...

Opinion on JD 2010
I have begun the search for a crawler to do some light dozer work and some road maintenance at my place in N.D. I found this 2010 on craigslist and looks like a worthy project. I am a fairly competent mechanic and am not afraid of a project, just don't need another huge project. The seller states: 1...
