Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have reworded my question a little, but is there a special torque pattern that is required? I know some engines are picky on the pattern so they dont leak, and i just want to make sure I start with the right pattern, if there is one. If not I would just start i...

MC Head Gasket Torque Sequence

Hey there, I was looking around trying to find out if there is a certain torque sequence for torquing down a head gasket on the MC? All the info I could find was the specs of 105-110 ft lbs. I plan on reusing my old head gasket if it come out in god shape as well, but does anyone know where a guy co...

Did you ever end up making pads? Ive been pondering making some as well. I work at a specialy steel distributor place and I can get 4x8 sheets of carbon for next to nothing (less then scrap value). I was thinking of taking them over to a guy i know with a metal shear to make the "main" part, then I ...

See I am thinking synthetics in the winter. Im not really sure how cold it gets where you guys are, but there is the occasional time or two I would like to plow a little snow with the MC, and find that its just too cold to move. Synthetic oils (in my mind anyways!) would help the flow of oil at thos...

Thanks for the replies fellas. I have a friend who also swears by 15-40 in the whole thing. My father was saying that he thought my uncle(who I had gotten this MC from after he passed away) ran synthetic oil in the engine and trans and finals so he could use it in the winter time. Anyone use synthet...

Ah thanks for the info guys!

Im not concerned about keeping it 100 percent original, Im going to be "restoring" it like how my uncle, and grandfather had it when they were alive, and they must have modified it to be a push button start system, thanks very much!

MC Starter Button

Hey guys, I am currently working on a 1949 MC that I got from my uncle when he passed away. The starter button hasn't worked for a few years, and Im just trying to determine which wires connect where, to get it going again. (I plan on building a new wiring harness for it one of these days, but its n...
