440 icd track adjusting
Thanks Lavoy-- Didn't know there weren't any 4 roller 440's. I talked to guy today that said he has a 4 roller 1010, and it has the mechanical tensioners. Didn't know they made 4 roller 1010's and that they still used the threaded tensioners on the 1010's. I guess I had a good day: I learned stuff. ...

440 icd track adjusting
Ben-- I thought the threaded shaft adjusters were on the 4 roller machines and if it's a loader, it probably is a 5 roller. I MIGHT BE WRONG! gregjo1948

440icd track adjusting
I think on a 440 loader it will have hydraulic adjusters. Right behind your front idler, there is a special grease fitting that you pump grease into to push the idler ahead, tightning the track. You need a special tip for your grease gun to utilize the fitting on the adjuster. I think you can remove...

starter removal
I had to remove the fuel filters on my 1010c diesel to remove the starter out the top. I think there is a hole thru the frame to get to the one bolt. My starter hadn't gone bad, it was the post inside to the solenoid was corroded. gregjo1948

440 rollers--How do you get them apart when the set screw is broken? The screws seem to be too hard to drill and heat will damage the seal. Does anyone have a master control (fender mounted dual master cylinder) for gearmatic winch? Thanks, gregjo1948

I just saw a M1000 tool carrier on craigslist. It was listed in Williamsport,PA but I think it was accually located in Dansbury,NY. It showed a photo of it, but I don't know if it was all there.($1000.00) I believe there was a 40C for sale too, that had a lot of work done on it. gregjo1948

440 track frame removal
Thanks Lavoy. Sorry Denny. I didn't realize there were 2 differant undercarriages for the 440. I believe my 440ICD is the same as my 1010C. Sounds like the early 440 is the same as the 420. gregjo1948

440 track frame removal
I 'm lost with this conversation. I just removed my left track frame from my 440 ICD. I jacked up-removed the track-removed the sprocket and front idler- removed the clamp on rear tube and 4 bolts on front tube- then, with a bar, slid the frame outwards until it came off the tubes. I think it took m...

That is a great looking machine. Been a long time since I've seen one that clean and straight. It even has the guards on the sprockets and chain tensioners. I'm impressed. If I had the money, thats how I would like to put the 440ICD I just bought. Nice find robk. gregjo1948
