JD 350B cylinder line
This machine is/was running as it should. Have the head off this dozer trying to find cause of coolant leak that doesn't leak to the ground. I haven't found anywhere on the head gasket that shows signs of a leak there. The center cylinder liner has a very slight movement as I press quite hard to the...

steering clutch adjustment
Working on a JD 350B. After installing new steering clutch discs, I need to adjust the pressure plate fingers and I wondered if the adjustment gauge, that I purchased to adjust the pressure plate fingers on a JD 1010, would work for the JD350B???? thanks, gregjo1948

Re: Putting a 1020 engine in 350
If it were me, I'd rebuild the 350 engine. I guess it depends on how much you're going to use the machine and what condition the rest of it is in.

Re: up date 1010 injector pump
If you lap the valves and find a good line on the valve face, there isn't any reason to reface them. If the lap line is very close to the top of the valve, you do risk "burning" the valve. When the seating ring on the valve is near the top of the face, the valve is thinner and more likely to fail. A...

Re: up date 1010 injector pump
If you're going to be safe rather than sorry, you should reface the valves and seats. Lapping valves isn't meant to fix imperfections. When lapping valves, you don't spin the valve 360 degrees. I know a couple people that chuck up the valve in a drill motor and spin it round and round. That's just W...

Re: Hydraulic pump on 350 loader/dozer
I would say yes. The loader pump will pump more gpm than the dozer pump but, I don't see why that would matter. I'm sure Lavoy will give you a definite correct answer.

As long as you have free play in the pedal, you're probably not hurting anything. I believe the 1" is just an approximate recommendation.

Re: 2-53 swap into a gas 440 worth it?
Lavoy-- why will the Detroit eat the transmission? Didn't the 440 use the 2-53 as an option originally? I personally like those noisy 2 stroke Detroits. Lot of power for their size.

Re: trouble steering 350 straight
I like a success story. My 350B has been down since summer. Only driving with the left track and would really like to have used it a couple days ago when we got 41" of snow. Buried both my plow trucks and had to use a little 1620 4x4 Ford with a front bucket loader to clear my 1/2 mile driveway.

Re: Leaking injectors
I understand that you were building pressure due to the vent problem but, where was the fuel actually leaking?

You can try searching "John Deere Parts Catalog".

Re: Leaking injectors
Could it be the connections where the fuel line connects to the injectors? Seems like those round connectors are soldered to the fuel line and if they get tweaked while installing or removing, they will leak.
