Re: diesel fuel leaking into engine oil, JD450b
Umbrella seal in the injector pump could be leaking.

Re: JD450 with a 93A backhoe
Down the road, when you get the machine working, you will want to keep the backhoe attachment off unless you actually need it. The machine is very tail heavy with the hoe and it is much easier to maneuver without a 10 foot tail following it around. The front bucket will dig and grade much better too...

Re: Rusted lines leaking?
I had a small crack develop in the hard line coming from the hydraulic cooler. Had it brazed with good success. No leaks for 5 years since the repair was done.
If it is mechanical damage, not corrosion where the line is paper thin, this might be an option.

Re: 350C Undercarriage Overhaul
One other thought, you probably want to replace the recoil spring (death spring) and it's associated end caps as well given that everything else is pretty much shot. You will need the special high strength spring compressor bolt to install the spring.

Re: 350B with rockshaft- backhoe mount?
Hello: I have a 450C track loader with the same back hoe attachment. With the back hoe on the machine is VERY tail heavy. I would think it would be even worse on a 350. You might be better off finding the next size smaller back hoe attachment. "B town" is right about extending the hydraulic line out...

Re: Considering buying a 450
The 450C is a very good machine but I would pass on that one. Keep looking, they are out there but good ones are tough to find. If any two of the big three (engine, transmission, track system) are good and the machine is not otherwise beat, it is a candidate.

Re: 350C Undercarriage Overhaul
I replaced the undercarriage on my 450C much as JWB Contracting suggests except I purchased chains with pads attached and in order to remove the original chains, I collapsed the tensioner using the bucket and pulled the track loop off intact. Beat the master pin in with a sledge hammer. Good luck, b...

Re: JD 450c 4219t, Who manufactuers reputable rebuild kits?
I have recently changed out the hydraulic hoses on the lift cylinder on my 450C. If you support the lift cylinder with a strap, pull the pin at the pedestal end, and retract the cylinder before removing the hoses it is alot easier to access the fittings. Reverse the process when done. While you are ...

Re: Any of you ever remove an idler ?
You can also put a block of wood between the back of the blade or bucket and the track and use the hydraulics to compress the tensioner. If the tracks are old and long, you can get them off without breaking them. Compress the tensioner and use come a longs and a rock pick to work the track off.

Re: Is 350 backhoe interchangeable with a 450 ?
I have a 450C with the 9300 backhoe. It is a beast to dig with but makes the machine too tail heavy to comfortably operate as a loader. It is off the machine when I don't need it. On a 350 it would be way too heavy.
