Thanks, that was very helpful. It sounds like mine is probably about 1000lbs. heavier than I thought. I doubt a winch and canopy equal 4 weights plus scarifier.

I like your chose in other tractors but I accumulate old diesels instead of LP.

Weight of 440 ICD and 831 loader?

Does any one know what a 440 ICD with the 831 loader weighs? I can't come up with anything. Manual shows shipping weight of bare crawler as 6300, but there is one heck of a lot more metal with the loader. Thanks. I'll try adjusting the reverser when I get a chance. The engine clutch slips badly and it has proper free play. Yes, I know that for normal usage the GM diesels are meant to be revved, but wide open is way too fast for many things like when loading on the trailer or backing into it's parking...

440 ICD Reverser problem

I just bought an early 440 ICD with loader, 5 speed plus reverser. I have another 440 ICD but it doesn't have the reverser so this is my first experience with that unit. Reverser feels and works ok forward. In reverse position, it is a loose engagement. And then it will back up for a short ways and ...
