Digging!

Finally got a chance to use the 350, we're adding on to the house so we had to put in a construction entrance and dig out the old tile field. I know the 310 isnt a crawler but hey its got its roots in Dubuque too. :) http://www.jdcrawlers.com/uploads/dsc00025b_copy.jpg http://www.jdcrawlers.com/uplo...

Hi Its all one common reservoir, srs is dead on about how to check it and what oil to use. It will take some time for the level to settle as the oil has to work its way out of the transmission and in to the finals. Once you fill it and run it for a while check it again. If youve had all of the oil o...

Reverser Valving

Hi I know this isnt the answer you want to hear but you need to pull the reverser to service those two valves. The tractor frame is just to close to do anything. You can service the clutch, cooler and lube pressure valves and the regulating orfice that fills the accumulator housing with the unit in ...

Hourmeter

Hi
The hourmeter should be on the left hand lower seat frame, behind the transmission level dipstick. You have to me off the machine to see it.
Hope this helps

Im not 100% sure on this but judging by the vintage of the 3020, if its a 24V start system, should use a series parallel switch. In theory they "switch" the batteries in sereies to 24V to start then in parallel to 12V to run and receive charge. Lavoy has the right idea with the straight 12V conversi...

Hi
Im not sure what year that s/n equates to but im pretty sure that the A designates what the machine is (i.e. a diesel loader or a dlesel inside mount dozer etc etc) If you have a good paper parts book it breaks down the serial numbers in the front prefix section.

Hi Thanks for all of the replies. Im pretty sure the machine is a 77 so its an even 30 now. Lavoy youre not prejudiced, you just have good taste :P It didnt matter how old the machine was these little guys have character (at least to me) and that in itself makes it worth restoring. And Toivo youre e...

Bushings

Hi Im pretty sure that the later 350As (i know for a fact the Bs and Cs do) started to use a "bushing" to bolt the front crossmember. The bolts hold the bushings to the track frames, the holes in the crossbar are supposed to be slightly bigger than the OD of the bushing this in turn allowed the fron...

I know you might have done this but did you clean the outlet screen in the fuel tank? Hes behind the shut-off vavle on the fuel outlet line. Tough to see if you dont know hes there beforehand.

Try to flush out as much as you can just using good clean oil after you drain the cruddy stuff out. Fuel probably wouldnt hurt anything just to flush the machine but i wouldnt run the machine with the fuel mix. Plus then you have to flush the fuel out with clean oil anyway.

I shouldnt have assumed off of the qty like i did, i just figured that my little 350C only has them on the bottom and we run alot of 650Hs at work which only have them on the bottom as well .In any event its a better desing on having them on the top too. Once the machines with only 1 wear strip wear...

wear strips

The straight 450 parts book doesnt say if its 4 per frame or machine, but if you look up a 450C it clearly shows 4 strips per frame one on top and one on the bottom. They probably didnt use it on the 350s to keep costs down, and its probably why they still dont do it on the newer machines
