450C Combined Sump

Hi all, So I have put ALL new clutches in my 450C and what a job. It was obvious that this was tore into before and had not been put together quite right to combine the final sumps. There were a few little ring groves but nothing terrible so I had someone just touch them with a lathe and they turned...

Re: 450C HLR Pressure

Thanks for the reply. I guess my question would be what is possible to make the pressure drop in gear? I would think even if the HLR discs were worn it would not cause a drop. Is there a hydraulic line inside trans that could cause this OR is something in the valve body itself causing the process to...

Re: Engine removal 450C

Pulling the pins and hoses should be it but it is extremally heavy so dont get a toe in the way. Remove the nose housing and I kept the rad on. I unbolt the bell housing and it should start to slide out. I actually did mine by myself. It sucks but that should tell you how easy it is.

450C HLR Pressure

Hi all, I need a little input from the pro's. I have just gotten my stuff back together, new main clutch, cleaned and de-glazed rear steering clutches, etc and I was setting my HLR pressure. At around 1800rpm I seem to have around 160ish psi which seems good but when I go into gear my pressure drops...

Re: 450C intermittent track power

Hi Jack, I just watched a documentary on the real Jack the ripper (NOT PRETTY) Even the smartest nut jobs mess up in the end. Last week I just tore down both sides of my 450C and replaced the bands and looked at my clutches. I originally started this project because of the same scenario you ju...

450C Back Hoe Attachment Mount

Hi All, Looking for an idea to re-tap the lower mount bolt holes that mounts the backhoe attachment plate on the rear of the tractor. On one side the mounts pulled away and pulled the bolts with it. The last 1/4 of the threads are still there (inner most part) but rest is wallowed out. The holes are...

Re: 450C Brake Band Inspection

I just replaced both of mine. Found one side way gone and grinding metal. These adjustments are really time consuming and you need 2 people. When you pull the top plate off you will need to remove the brake adjuster then roll the liner out to see the actual pad.
Good luck

Re: Another 450C Steering Clutches

I also might have made a mistake by putting this blog in late mods and I apologize if so. I have no problem with it being moved.

Hi Guys, sorry for the delay but I have to many things I want to do and only 2 hands:) I am back on the project and I really have gotten so much farther than I had expected. Another 450C Steering Clutches

Hi all, I am probably going to ask several questions on this thread because I am in the beginning stages of diagnosing some issues with my crawler. To start with the crawler stopped pulling a while back and I think it was only on the left side so I pulled it in and decided to replace the main drive ...
