Overheating

Sir
Pull the radiator and take it in to be re-done. The guts or more than likely
full of build up. Take water pump off and check the impeller. Don't take anymore changes of destroying your engine.

555A LEAK

Sir I also have a 555A and have delt with numerous leaks. My first impression is this: It has to be going someplace and the obvious is on the ground. The most common is a coupling under the belly pan which from vibration will develope a small crack. It's the one coming from and directly off the pump...

Hydrolic Hose

I busted a hydrolic hose on my 555A crawler loader. Of course it had to be one which looks impossible to get too. If you sitting in the operators seat it's to your left at knee high behind a cover plate and numerous steel lines. I have removed the main pin for the large ram but how in the heck does ...

FINALS

BULL No problem. I just went through this myself. Not only are parts available from Deere (Erb Equipment) but other on line sites as well. Yes to the manual. Thats a must. Get your dozer in the shed (clean it up with a pressure washer first) and get it on jacks. I use a coupler of 20 toner's but 10 ...

555A

Digitup Thanks for the reply. Duck hunting just ok for me. My biggest problem is working for a living instead of sitting in my duck blind. Just don't kill many ducks at the office. Retiring from my Government job in April of 2009 then I'll have more time. I'm going to study your e-mail in detail thi...

555A Crawler Loader

Digitup Haven't heard from you lately. As you may recall I had to replace seals and bearings on my crawler's final drive and you were a great help. Everything went well except I did not tighten the set screw in the brake drum which pushed back and ruptured the internal hydrolic line to the streeing ...

Digitup

Hey Digitup I finally got around to working on my 555A crawler loader. You hit it right on the button as to what was proberly wrong. The right hand streeing clutch pressure hose (internal) was ruptured. When we rebuilt the final drive we did not tighten the set screw/bolt into the clutch drum. I'm p...

Digitup / Finale Drive

Digitup Thanks for the reply, you always come thru. However you may have misunderstood my problem. After replacing all bearings and seals we re-installed the finale drive. That was after we had removed the drive without removing the set screw. (I got your book after it was removed). Bearings and sea...

I finally managed to remove the final drive from my 555A. Having never worked on heavy equipment before it was a learning experence for sure. Actually I have been working on other equipment, tractors mainly, plus it's been high 90's and over 100 a number of days. It looks as though I will need to re...

Digitup Thanks for info on my 555A. No, I haven't made repairs yet. I have rebuilt the clutch & Fuel injecter pump on my 1957 Fordson Major. Rebuilt my old brush hog and now having problems with the fuel pump on the Fordson, right before haying time. Keeps blowing diaphams and leaking diesel fuel in...

Old TD40

Ok, its not green but I purchased a TD40 Crawler with bad engine which was not original. It was a International Truck engine with a standard transmission, clutch and presure plate bolted to the origenal TD40 transmission. Worked fine until old engine blew. What would be a recomendation for a cheap r...
