Not a bad crawler but the tracks are shot. The 1200 hours on the meter is also not correct. The track rails show a lot more wear than that even if they were never changed. If you only intend to use it for 40 to 50 hrs, it could work as is for a while but be careful with thin chains and knife point r...

iron, oxygen and water react to form hydrated iron oxide. When hydrated iron oxide dries, it leaves just the reddish yellow iron oxide. Adding water again will slowly rehydrate the iron oxide if the water can actually come in contact with the iron oxide. Jim, (a chemistry major) Just thinking about ...

Years ago, a gun club bought a 450B to do small cleanup around the range. It had limb risers but no brush guards. A friend of mine did a lot of mechanical work on the tractor and enjoyed running it. I cautioned him one day to always fasten his seat belt. Well, a couple years later, he told me a stor...

450C Dozer limb risers
Just going through some of the parts I have from the days when I was running 2 450C dozers. I found a complete set of limb risers including the exhaust and exhaust guards. It also includes the weld pieces removed from the canopy. Any suggestions as to the best way to sell these and the price they sh...

77 Ford, take a close look at the expanded photo. Look at the angle of the cylinder yoke to the track frame. It is slanted upward several degrees and does not match the piston angle. Then look at some other photos of Deere crawlers and you will see the yoke is level. Also, there is something funny i...

If the slack could have been taken out of the track, the seller would have done so prior to the photo. Look at the angle difference between the piston and the cylinder in that adjuster. It is significant and indicates the piston is probably broken. That requires breaking the track and new parts for ...
