Re: Noise from clutch area in 420
it's good that it did not go up your pant leg. The cold side of my shop is tight to all but mice but you never know. I will check it out tonight.

Noise from clutch area in 420
I started up my 420 for the first time this year and I am hearing a rumbling noise coming from near the clutch. I hear it whether the clutch is depressed or not and when in or out of gear. I checked the clutch free-travel and it is correct. I was thinking it could be the pilot bearing or the throw-o...

440 IC for sale
I have a friend that has a 440IC that he wants to sell, serial # 458613 which makes it a 1960 model possibly with the higher horsepower engine and larger transmission. The hour meter shows 932 hours but I have no idea if it is correct. It has sat outside for a while. Location is Amboy Illinois (nort...

440IC & 831 loader value
I am looking at a 1960 440IC with a 831 loader (sn # 458613). It has 932 hours on the tach (don't know if it still works) and looks in fairly good shape. The engine clutch froze so they pulled it out of the shed to work on it around 20 years ago and there it sits. New bushings, pins and maybe rails ...

Thanks for the concern but I took the demolition of the silo very seriously. We used 60' of cable/chain for a 40' silo. There was always someone watching the silo closely when anyone was near it. Whenever we pulled on the silo no one was within 50' of it. The one neighbor wanted to knock a few more ...

Using my 420 to take down a silo
We had some fun a couple of weeks ago. We demolished our little 40' cement stave silo. We looped cables through 3 holes I had knocked out on the north side. It took a few tugs but I was able to pull out staves about a third of the way around. Unfortunately it still stood. I cut a few more bands and ...

I have two MGBs, a 70 roadster and a 74 GT, that I would like to restore. They both will have to wait until I put a new bull gear in my 420. I ran over a 6x6 post and it wedged between the track and the final casing. I heard a pop and now I notice a skip once every revolution of the drive sproket. I...

1957 420c tracks
I just purchased a 1957 420c with a strange set of tracks. It has cast pads and links all-in-one. There is a hint of red paint on the working surface of some of the pads but the link side has old yellow paint.
Are these original Deere tracks?
