420C Oil Bath icing

I have a 1957 420C with a No 61 blade. Used to push snow. Works great and can push a blade full of snow at light angle in 5th gear. Here is my problem. The cup at the bottom of the oil bath air cleaner gets a build up of water in it. When pushing snow below freezing this slushes up and has even froz...

spoked wheel-----wanted!

Looking for a spoked wheel for a JD 55a-b-h trip plow. The wheel is the one used for the power raise. I found the number stamped in it and I believe that it is RB40. The tire that fits on it is a 5x21. Please let me know if there is anything like this out there.

2010 with illness

How hard is it to change out the hydraulic pump on a 2010 crawler? There is water in the oil, very well mixed I might add. Froze a couple of years ago and now all it wants to do is howl and growl. Typical airation/cavitation sound. Thoughts on what I should expect when I get inside? Next question wo...

Nice! I needed a good laugh. This one will be a snow pusher in the winter. I get home after dark and go to work before sun up so it will get 6-8 lights installed to ensure visibilty. I do completely agree with the classics and keeping them original!

Well the belt adjuster bracket sure looks like a 420. The home made mounting brackets look close to what I built as well. Sure not factory but for someone who is wanting to do the conversion most of the work is done for them here. Not my auction. I mounted a single wire delco on my 420. I'll get som...

Finaly got a break from the rain. Took the seat off as well as the covers. I must say that they is a poor design as adjustment or technician interaction was an afterthought. So the cross nut wouldn't turn....and the stud going through it had about 5/8" sticking completely above the cross nut. Not su...

Now thats funny! Ignorance must sure be bliss! In this case, the seller seems to be very well versed in crawlers of all makes. He has the complete set of crawlers from the MC to the 440....even with all of the UC options. The one that he was most proud of was the 430 5 roller.

Thanks Lavoy! Did not see where there was anything too rare about it, but sometimes all that is rare is a serial number tag.

5 roller 430

I found one of these yesterday. Has a JD blade on it. The guy made it sound like these were rare or at least a low production number. Runs great, but the sheetmetal is hammered. Thoughts and opinions?

420C brake adjustment

Can anyone tell me where and how to adjust the brakes for steering? The clutch part seems to be fine. The lever just hits the seat frame as the brake is just starting to work. I pulled the round bung type plug on the front side and did not see much to adjust. Thanks in advance!!
