Re: Trans fluid draining into final drive
Final drive or steering clutch housing? Transmission or reverser? The steering clutches in a C model are actuated using pressurized oil from the direction reverser. If the seals on one of the steering clutch actuators start leaking oil will transfer from the reverser to the steering clutch housing w...

Re: Adding a Tachometer
Tiny Tach makes a tach for Diesel engine applications that clamps a sensor on one of the fuel lines from the injection pump to the injectors that senses pressure pulses in the line and converts that into a digital read out RPM

Re: Anyone put a snow blower on a 350b ?
Honda walk behind snowblowers work pretty awesome if you are not clearing acres. Before buying the pull behind blower we plowed the drive with a quad then blew the snow with a 9 hp 28 inch Honda blower

Re: Anyone put a snow blower on a 350b ?
Seriously doubt you would have enough hydraulics to run one well. Self powered either hydraulic or mechanical snowblowers that mount onto different vehicles are available but pretty spendy. Just put a Farm King 74 inch pull type snowblower on our 50 hp 2wd tractor to clear our 2 km long driveway and...

Re: Looking for JD 350 steering clutch housing
Try Mark in Johnson Vermont. He used to post here as pondhogvt and regularly has listings in Vermont craigslist in heavy duty equipment for 350 and 450 parts. He had 350C steering clutch housings a couple of years back.

14000 pound 450C pulling 35000+/- pounds. On dead flat maybe but I doubt you would be successful on any inclines or irregularities

Re: Split link on JD450C undercarriage
Trek literature refers to it as a master link but gator teeth or alligator link is what is supposed to be there. I am unable to find anything that looks different to indicate which link it is.

Split link on JD450C undercarriage
I need to reseal one of the track tension cylinders on my 450C. The machine has Trek rails on it with link pt# 5-0087DQ5 which supposedly indicates it is a lubricated sealed chain with split master link. I am unable to see anything obvious to tell me which is the split link. Is there anything distin...

Re: bolt on track cleats
I have found the street pads to be poor in the snow particularly in mild conditions as the the snow packs flush with grouser tops. Some days the machine couldn't get out of its own way on pretty flat ground so I ended up caulking it with 3 inch wide by 1 inch tall grouser stock alternating 1 or 2 pe...
