Can a 1010 deck sleeve be bored out to accept a 2010 diesel piston? Would the sleeve deck need to be in the block to bore it? If this would work it would be a great way to get clean bore for the 2010 diesel.

I would also check point gap, condenser, and coil. All these could create a weak spark and be hard to start, but still run well. I am sure you could replace all these parts plus plugs , wires, rotor and cap for around hundred dollars.
