Turns out that this jd450 now has Berco rollers on it. They are sealed and there is no place to add either oil or grease.



The Berco ID510 rollers. Anyone know a good source with a good price.??

Are the allen screws dead in the center of the axle of the roller? Mine have a dimple but I've dug them out a few times and can't find in allen head. These rollers are sealed so they are not original equipment. I have a couple that are just stiff, but two I cannot turn by hand. Has anyone had any success drilling them for a grease zerk or heavy weight oil then seal the hole with a plug. Its a 1967 and I dont use it that much so saving about $500 ...

5 does slide along 4 forward as you say, but it slides alway past the end of 4 then the belt goes between the end of 4 and5. you may be sliding it on the splined shaft but if it still doesn't open wide enough to get the belt through, the shaft may still be dirtly and not allowing it to slide all the way.
