350C Loader: do I need a counterweight?

Hello, I have a 350C with a 9550 back hoe. I will be taking off the hoe to do some dirt work and my question is do I need a counterweight to keep machine stable? I do not want to plant it on it's nose. I have a 4 in one Drott bucket on front. I am sure there are a lot of people who have done this an...

350C power reverser

Hello, does anyone know a source for a complete power reverser for a 350C. Mine is weak and maybe the solution is to replace a complete unit rather than rebuild. Thanks.

350C engine identification

Hello I have a 1980 350 C crawler loader. The Owners Manual says the engine is a 164 CID and a 23 GPM hyd. pump. The factory service manual says 179 CID and 23 GPM pump. The factory manual says it covers 350C 350D 355D. Anyone have any suggestions on how to identify what engine I have. I don't think...

Milky colored hydraulic fluid in 350C

Hello, I drained the main hydraulic tank when I pulled out the engine to repair flywheel isolator. The fluid was milky in color, which I understand is water contamination. How would water get into system? What is best way to flush out system to get all that dirty oil out? I have a 9550 backhoe on it...

350C engine flywheel isolator failure

Hello, I have a 1980 350C and the isolator plate has broken springs twice in 700 hrs. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be causing these failures? I have the engine out now and it appears that one of the anchor bolts came loose and stripped the rest. The plate looks OK so I should be...

Backhoes for 350/450C

Hi, what's the difference between as JD 9250,9550 and a 9300 back hoe attachment for the 350/450 loaders?

When I look at specs. they all seem close to same.

I have a 9550 on 350C and am wondering what is inter changeable.

Thanks.

JD 350 C crawler loader 1980 Engine oil

Hello. The owners manual recommends straight 30W oil for summer use. They recommend multi grade 5w20 for cold starts. Would anyone out there have used multigrade in summer without problems? Ideally I would like to run a 0W40 partial synthetic year round. I use that in my other equipment and its easy...

You already have used undercarriage, no real gain buying more of it. I can get you aftermarket depending on what you need, and current availability. Send me an e-mail with what you are looking for, and I will check price and availability. Lavoy OK let me figure out what I need. I am in Calgary Albe...

Steering clutch 450C

Hello, how do I service may steering clutches on a 450C crawler loader?
Are they a seperate oil tank from the transmission?
The left hand clutch requires more " effort " than the right, it will stall the track but you have pull lever much harder. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Undercarrige rebuild

I have a 1979 450C crawler loader and I want to do complete under carraige rebuild. I want to do at lowest cost as possible, I plan to keep machine for long time but will only put 100 hrs per year at most so I do not need to match OEM quality. Can any one recommend a parts supplier contact that may ...
