Re: wallowed out hole fix

Did you follow the Loctite instructions to the letter? Things have to be REALLY clean for it to work properly. For those bolts, red Loctite is probably what you want.

***Important notice about messageboard upgrade***

This evening, I will be migrating the old board over to the new one. The old messageboard will not be reachable for a couple hours while this happens. When the new board is up, it will have the "stock" look and feel to it for now. You should be able to log in normally. If you have any issues, use th...

If you really want a 1010 and have storage space, buy this one and consider using it for parts when you find another 1010. Might be able to put a good one together for cheap.

$1k is pretty cheap for that much machine.

The blower is off a Deutz Allis from the 80's, after Allis Chalmers changed hands.

James May of Top Gear UK fame has done a number of programs of his own. A couple of them are about Meccano, the UK version of erector sets. Check youtube for "James May Meccano" and you'll see them. Very interesting. He even built a motorcycle of sorts with sidecar to run the Isle of Man TT course.

I went with a cheap Walmart battery and keep a Battery Tender on it whenever it's in the garage. So far the battery has been happy.

We only got about 10" total here, but I finally got to play with my snowblower. I had to import it from Pennsylvania about five years ago because Allis Chalmers garden tractors are rare on this side of the US. http://images.ttyr2.com/albums/Snowblowers/blowin_snow.jpg The family from a few years bac...

I purchased a Battery Tender brand 6V charger and it has worked very well for keeping the 6V battery in good shape through the winter months. Highly recommended.

JD 420 loader dimension and weight

Looking at purchasing a gooseneck equipment trailer. Would be hauling a 40C with blade and a 420/430 with factory loader attachment.

What is the length and weight of a 420 with loader/ripper?

I will be at the Oregon Steamup at Brooks, OR this coming weekend and could bring the blade along if someone was serious about buying it. They'd have to convince me they were serious though.

Just pushing this back up the forum. I don't want to scrap it, but I don't want it sitting around much longer either.
