The clutch is disengaged before the brake is applied. When I tightened the band I couldn't tell where the detent was so I may not have had that wright. As far as doing the hole setup to the manual I'm afraid I will make it worse not better. It's pretty confusing, I have had two mechanic buddies look...

450b steering brake adjustment
Had new steering clutches and brake band replaced. Ran it about 20hrs and brake was not turning as good as before. Tightened brake ban 1 turn, worked good for 30 or so minutes. Next day tightened it again 30 or so minutes later it wouldn't turn as good. It is really like the power assist is not work...

450b sreering clutch
I debated for 6 months to to do my clutch job or hire it out. It took a very good dozer mechanic 26 hrs at 25$ an hr to do just one side. You just never know how long it will take untill you start. His estimate was 15 hr at most. I took to him on a Friday and I was using it by the next Friday. I see...

450b steering clutch
I talked to a john deere mechanic that says you don't have to pull finals out on 450 just 350 . More on dieselbomber web site say the same. Can anyone clear this up, is splitting the tracks really necessary.

450B steering clutch.
I am getting different answers if you have to split tracks on 450b to replace steering clutches. Some say you don't some say you do. Can anyone be of help on this.

spliting the tracks
I didn't.think you had to split the tracks on a 450b to replace the steering clutches.

My 450 B right clutch sliping when under alot of pressure.
This is my frst forum ever, so bare with me. Can this clutch be adjusted or is toast. Manual is not real clear, any tips and tricks on this adjustment would be helpful.
