It sounds like an awesome find and living only a 1/2 hour away from you I wish I had found it!! I have a decent 350B and yes they are costly, but if you didn't pay anything for it it's worth a few grand to get her going. Undercarriage is super expensive but I found that Industrial tractor in NY or M...

Length of spring should be 14 7/8" One of mine had backed off and was 2 " too long. Now I can leave the chain in one piece, compress the adjuster all the way and slide the springs in place as long as you can push the idler forward enough.

No I don't have the gear situation under control yet. I'm looking for the parts, I know you said you'd have them in december but I never got a cost on them from you. I've talked w/ a couple of machine shops and waiting on a estimate of making a different gear style. I've also looked at a used machin...

I found two sets and yes the used ones cost as much as the machine is worth..new is a bit more. i would make her narrow except my cross shafts are welded. Having a friend of mine that's a machinist stop by my shop tonight to figure out some options.

yes, the terminology is from deere's parts department. basically makes the sprockets sit further out from the final.

350B Steering gear and coupler. Any machinist??

Called deere and some of the parts I need for my wide track are not available anymore. Looking for a used set or someone to machine me new ones. They call it a steering gear and coupler, also the sprocket shaft is worn at the splines.

Since mine is a wide track it's different I think. Seems to me the bearings get worn and then they over tightened the tracks and now it uses the gears to center the sprocket shaft..

350B inner sprocket shaft and gear

After removing the tracks I found that the sprocket shaft moves in any direction w/ force. I took the sprocket assemble apart and looks like the bearing is bad and now the axle is centering itself on the coupling gear and shaft. Does this make sense? Looks like there isn't any support for the shaft ...
