Re: JD 450C no crank

Those bottom bolts/nuts are easy to remove with a crowfoot wrench.

I jam a towel or some rags under the starter in case i drop the nut so I don't need to fish for it.

I have not looked at the Messageboard for a long while, so my comment is late in arriving!

Anyone put a snow blower on a 350b ?

I'm running out of room to pile snow in the yard and have long thought of putting a blower on the front of one of my 350's, I would like to blow the snow back into the trees. I am hoping to use the hydraulic valve not in use from the backhoe ,to run a drive motor for the snowblower. nd add a valve t...

Re: new to the 450c crawler need help died and won't crank?

"so I started it and it started for a second, then died again" ......here's a longshot but, this happened to me. If this crawler has hydraulic hoses in the back for an attachment then they need to be connected to each other or it wont run for more than a few seconds at best. The hoses may have came ...

Re: 450C Dozer 1974 Transmission Oil Concern

I had the same problem, with my transmission oil in my 450c dozer. Changed it last year and, now I discover the same thing again, milky looking fluid. And, yesterday I discovered that the water was likely coming from my clutch housing. I siphoned off a gallon or so of water from the clutch housing a...

Re: 3310 vs 3315 winch

Make sure you get all the control cable and handle, you will have an near impossible time finding them otherwise. My 3315 sure works well. I think the 3310 had a more complicated control handle with two opposing hydraulic master type cylinders and several hoses to the pump. 3315 just a single contro...

Re: Needing a nice John Deere 350 track loader bucket

How are you making out finding a bucket? I have a friend in the trailer business that regularly drives south of Chicago to pick them up, perhaps he could get one close for you? What is a fair price for a bucket, anyone ?

Re: 450-B Steering clutches swelled up?

Vaulter, nice to hear this quick fix. I have a 450b loader with one stuck steering clutch. I used it for many hours this past summer and it would not loosen. Drove it with one, pain in the a**! I'm looking forward to your final video.

Re: I won't say no, but it is not a Deere.

It will be a treat to start it as it was in my family for at least 40 years before Dad got it. Dad had a good restoration done when he got it and never put more than a tank of fuel in it since then. Pull start on the pup motor. The pup was replaced with a spare as the original had frozen. It seems t...

I won't say no, but it is not a Deere.

Dad is getting fragile in his old age and it is time to clean out his storage shed. I will be picking up his 1937 Cat d2 dozer. (Cat says they started making them in 38 but Dad is sure its a 1937) Only the pup motor is keeping this old crawler from running. It had froze but there is an parts one so ...

Re: help with a 450

I have bought most of my manuals from Deere. Just buy the least expensive on line version, copy to a memory stick, go to your nearest print shop and in a day or two you have a new manual in a binder. Plus, if you mess up some pages, it is easy to just print replacements as you need them.

Re: Deere 350B engine coolant heater

I purchased a 1500w heater for my 350c and was disappointed to see it would not fit on the side on the engine like the smaller ones do on my 350b's as, it was a lot larger. I like the spot where you mounted yours and did not think of that option. I am going to see if it will fit there when I go back...

Re: Screenprinting shop gone

Insurance is worth every penny. Twice in my life insurance has rescued us from complete catastrophe. Although, I have likely paid twice in premiums compared to claims in the last 40 years, having the insurance when needed has been a blessing.

Re: Another fuel problem 450C trackloader

There is possibly a screen at the bottom of your fuel tank. Where the fuel line attaches to the tank. Also a shut off valve there usually. Blow compressed air back into the tank from the line where it connects to the fuel pump. This is the simple solution most of the time for me, I hope it is not yo...

I do not think that that it is a 1010 if it has a two cylinder diesel.
