Butcher job is a understatement. Its a 50-50 job looks good at fifty feet or fifty MPH. It is purely functional, and to protect my craftsmanship, bought that way.

I will have to post up my finished project. the finals are completely done and installed and she is crawling again.

This should be fun...atleast I have nothing to loose it is cracked already. Hopefully the crack already being there will help relieve som...

I see that make sense. I saw somewhere on here measurements for the steering clutch disks, but can't find them now. I have mine all dissembled and am trying to figure out at what measurement they should be replaced. My Rh clutch looks like it saw some water once, little rusty. Metal Plates measure n...

With the final drives broken down I found this. Looks like the clutch had some bolts that were to Long at some point or something. Ground out the final case. Definitely been that way for a while. Should I bother with it? http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa446/yellow-is-good/7201A6C2-04AC-458F-942...

So the 1000 tool bar? That is the assembly that is u shaped and goes from the track mount around the front to the other mount.

To use it on the back it is simply reversed?

Inside the track blade vs outside the track blade

My crawler has a inside the track mounted blade from a more modern crawler like a 40c I think. It still has the hydraulic lift parts on the tracks for I think a outside the track blade. So my question is what are the disadvantages or advantages to either setup? My crawler http://i1198.photobucket.co...

A neighbor from down the road stopped by to look at this dozer, apparently he had a couple similar and currently has a 1010. He has been a nice help! Got the finals off Rh http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa446/yellow-is-good/1D1D4F25-AADD-42A0-BC38-2A2623ABB50C-1145-0000014710730D4A.jpg Lh http:...

No the blade is not original. I believe it is of a 40 or later. The owner I bought the tractor from bought it with no blade. He got the blade at a auction and put it on after the fact. It has not been on there long. The tracks I have no idea. I know one thing someone has definitely been in the final...

How might one get the bearing races out of the final drive caps? I plan to replace all the bearings in my final drives. Looking at the races i was kind of puzzled as to how to get them out.

I was think of trying the old trick of welding the race to shrink it but was not sure if that was enough.

Yeah I was reading about the weakness in these tracks. Guess they are simply Lindeman tracks from a B put on a M making it a crawler. Yes I know there was more than JUST that but that is the basics of it i figure. Guess why it was called a crawler and not a dozer. Likes to be a tractor. What can't b...
