Also a good tech manual is a great place to start. If you don't have one then I highly suggest you get one. You will need it for other things you will undoubtedly come across.
So what is your starter doing? You may not need to replace the whole thing. Tell what it's doing and we will go from there.

Re: Jd 450 clutch adjustment problem
So it has been forever plus three days since I last worked on one of these 450 clutch / HLR's. But as I recall there are two things that could be your issue. The first is the pressure plate for the engine clutch. They should be set with a gauge?? I think!! Like I said it has been well over twenty fi...

Re: 350c dozer dealer manual hours
They will weigh roughly 400 to 500 pounds as a unit. What I mean by that is when you pull it, it will come out with the radiator, hydraulic pump and muffler still on it and you can leave the oil and coolant in them as well. Strip some of that off and you can get them down to 400 pretty easily.

Re: Jd 350b power reverser help
Your best bet is to drop the skid plate, pull the floor boards, front grill and the side shields if you still have them. In other words take everything you can off of the machine and give it a good pressure washing. Then look for a leak. You have a leak somewhere at a cooler line, steering assist li...

Re: 350c dozer dealer manual hours
Chuck, Well I would have that dealer verify what those hours for each unit are for. They aren't overhauling the motor they're only supposed to pull it. I personally can't believe they need 22 hours to pull a 350 motor. The reverser is tougher to do so depending on the individual machine, 20 hours to...

Your best bet for your parts is a salvage yard. Out your direction there is ( PB&H Equipment Parts - 1-888-588-3005 ) Or here in Missouri there is ( Zimmerman Tractor - 1-573-378-7210 ) The guys at PB&H are great to help with information as well.

Yes... There is nothing wrong with aftermarket injectors. Just stay with the better quality ones. Remember you get what you pay for. Lavoy has them right here and I would contact him since I know he keeps good quality parts.

Re: 450c hot trans slipping
It does sound like you have an internal issue. Most likely wear and age will be what you will find. It's a long way into these things so be patient and take your time. You can run them with the top off of the transmission but I don't recommend it. No matter how hard you try to be careful they will s...

Re: Reverser to clutch swap
It can be done but would be expensive and would depend on parts availability. Basically you have to replace the flywheel on the engine to accommodate a pressure plate and clutch disc. Then a drive shaft to extend from the clutch to the transmission. Then you have to replace the entire center housing...

Re: 350 straight reverser filter and oil change.
I'm with Jim on the pipe plug. Those should really be a flush fitting plug with either an "Allen" socket or a "Square" socket. Now that being said even the flush mount plugs will protrude a bit. Those plugs get damaged when the skid plate gets mashed up against the reverser. This exposes those drain...

Re: motor identification
Your combined weight will be less than a 1000 pounds. I'm guessing around 700 to maybe 800 pounds. I easily handled a 350 engine with my little 1025R compact tractor.

Re: Transmission querk
As I recall there are adjustments on the shifter for the gear range transmission. If you don't have a tech manual then I highly suggest you get one. Then go by the procedure outlined in the book to set the adjustments. Then hopefully that will cure your issue. However... given the age of your machin...

Re: 350 straight reverser filter and oil change.
Yes you can drain the oil via the filter cover. I take three of the four bolts out and then just loosen the fourth bolt. Pry the cap loose and it will drain most of your oil out. Bear in mind that the filter is connected to the cap and is also spring loaded. The spring tension is minimal however so ...

Re: 350b no power to left track
It could be a broken axle or the splines are stripped in the clutch pack. But usually it will be a pressure plate that is stuck in the released position. The fact that your adjustments are way out of where they should start from indicates a pressure plate issue. You could jack this up and put it on ...

Re: 350b no power to left track
Sounds like a collapsed pressure plate or badly worn clutch pack to me. Could be a combination of the two. Either way it means pulling it apart. I would say at some point whoever the owner was tried to compensate the adjustment by extending the yoke on that side.
